Man Counts MÖTLEY CRÜE As Friends

Kness has been a fan of MÖTLEY CRÜE since he was in high school.
"I was going to go to a MÖTLEY CRÜE concert in high school, but I got grounded," he said.
Kness (photo) spent about a year as a handyman for Nikki Sixx, a bass player for MÖTLEY CRÜE. Kness, 35, has lots of MÖTLEY CRÜE memorabilia from the year he worked for Sixx: guitar picks, signed photos, a pair of Tommy Lee's post-concert drumsticks, backstage VIP passes and dozens of photos of them just hanging out.
He worked as a handyman for a homeowners association in California when he heard Sixx and his wife, Donna D'Errico of "Baywatch" fame, were moving in.
"We got a rock star moving in," one of the residents told him, "He's got a number for a name or something."
"Nikki Sixx?" Kness said.
"Yeah, that's it," she said.
He met Sixx for the first time a few weeks later. Kness said Sixx pulled up to the house in his Ferrari and said, "Hi, I'm Nikki."
Breathless, Kness said, "Yeah, I know."
It was more than a brush with stardom, like the time he attended a CRÜE concert and sat behind actor Corey Feldman. Pictures of his two sons, Chris, 12, and Caleb, 10, sitting in Sixx's lap adorn a coffee table in his Loveland home. Sixx's big, tattooed arms are wrapped around the boys. All are smiling.
"Everybody would like to say they're friends with a rock star. But I'm definitely a good acquaintance," Kness said.
"But I'm friends with his kids," Chris said.
